SHAELYNN TREDENICK is a photo-based artist based in Ottawa, Canada, holding a Graduate Diploma in Photographic Arts + Production from the School of Photographic Arts: Ottawa and formal degree in Photography from Algonquin College. A decade of competitive dance informs her work, bringing a sense of movement, rhythm, and choreography into her visual practice.

Her current practice centers on scanography of both preserved and living botanicals, drawing inspiration from 17th-century Dutch floral paintings while engaging with contemporary digital processes and everyday arrangements. Through careful composition, hand techniques, and digital manipulation, she reimagines historic floral motifs with a modern sensibility, creating forms that exist between nature, memory, and transformation.
